As a ukranian born, i spent my summers in Zaporozhe at my grandparents, where grandma would make those vareniki, usualy with cherries…. Anyways- my point is-
Eating a shot load of vareniki, and getting sour cream??? TOTALY WORTH IT!!!

Well, sour cream IS one of those things I always find myself running to the store, last minute, for a recipe. I can understand the importance. His wife was probably making kugelis for dinner. Poor guy.
I could easily go through a tub of sour cream all by myself. It’s a weakness.

it is impossible to not be stocked on sour cream, in a soviet household. it just doesnt work that way.
